Social TV Web Developer

Overview

We’re looking for a talented LAMP developer to join our team on an exciting new digital product. Invoke Media is launching a second screen platform to disrupt how people interact with television, sports, special events, and physical locations. This is a great opportunity to get in early with a lot of upside. Our team consists of motivated self-starters, and want to work with you if you too exhibit unusual drive, can deliver results, and share our passion. Creativity and outside-the-box thinking is welcome, must take pride in getting job done at all costs and enjoy a fast paced design and development environment.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  Design and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable technologies for our second screen gaming platform
  Finding creative ways to enhance our product features while writing less code
  Ability to go beyond the predefined technologies and suggest new tools

Skills

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  3+ years experience with HTML, PHP, CSS, Javascript, AJAX
  3+ years experience with web services/applications
  3+ years experience with Flash and Actionscript 3
  Experience with video encoding, specifically Flash Media Server and ffmpeg
  Experience building Facebook applications
  Knowledge of social media platforms, Mobile, Video and Web 2.0 technologies
  Experience with SVN and other version control systems
  Working knowledge of open source content management/frameworks
  Comfortable working with the Linux command line
  Familiarity with Agile development / Scrum method of project management
  Familiarity with OAuth or other web app authentication
  A great sense of humor

NICE TO HAVE

  Experience with Amazon EC2 or other cloud computing services
  Experience with HTML5 video, JQuery
  Any specific experience with C#, Objective C, iPhone app development
  Experience with Facebook open graph
  Experience using one or more of the following API’s - twitter, instagram, youtube, klout
  Experience with 3rd party sentiment tools
  Experience and knowledge with front end optimization
  Experience with server side caching mechanisms. (e.g - memcached)
  Experience working with data, lots and lots of data
